Back to Blythe
My Husband went to pay for the Boler tonight and that gave me a bit of catch up time with the 1972 Blythe and companions.
1972 Blythe is currently resting in a vintage carry-on bag owned by my Husband's late mother.
She is amassing quite a wardrobe but still can't wear anything in her current condition.
Nikki Blythe is very obliging and will preview all clothing purchased for 1972 Blythe.
And the little ones stand guard.

Boler for Blythe
We just adopted the ultimate accessory for my 1972 Blythe - a 1972 Boler! The restoratioin project of both Blythe and Boler will occur simultaneously and will hopefully celebrate their renaissance next summer!
This is the 1972 Boler. There were only 225 made that year!
The interior is painted the same mauve that Singapore Airlines used in 1972 in order to make the cabins appear more spacious.

Blythe Restoration Project initiates
I'm posting these images today in order to document the progress of the Blythe Restoration Project and to see if anyone in the conservation, restoration, Blythe or fashion community has any advice on how to successfully bring Blythe back to her intended glory.

1972 Blythe comes home
Well, after months of waiting for my mother to bring her over, my 1972 Blythe finally arrived. She came with friends - my other childhood dolls. Listed in the order of appearance: Scooter, 1972 Blythe, Baby Secret, Crissy and her cousin Velvet.

Blythe is a doll made in 1972 and discontinued that same year for it creepiness and fear factor that many felt it carried.
Gina Garan, a NY photographer, is largely responsible for Blythe's rebirth in popularity and current dollar value- which by the way is insane.
I had one of these dolls when I was a little girl and this is a documentary of my journey to rediscover the doll and little girl from the seventies that seemingly got lost along the way. I don't know if I'll ever find either of them but it is certainly worth a try.
